This is
a story of a deserted HOUSE. Its windows were broken
and its floor sagged, and parts of the roof had fallen in. When
the wind WHISTLED around the eaves, the timbers CREAKED,
the shutters CLATTERED and the chimney gave a low MOAN.
In the cellar
of the HOUSE, the mice SQUEAKED and a rusty piece
of sheet metal trembled with a loud BONG. In the attic
of the HOUSE, the bats wings WHIRLED
as they flew around in shadowy circles.
One night
a GHOST visited the HOUSE. He floated into the
HOUSE through a broken window. It CREAKED, the
shutter CLATTERED, the chimney MOANED, the metal
BONGED, the mice SQUEAKED, the bats WHIRLED
and the wind WHISTLED through the HOUSE'S chimney.
this was too much even for a GHOST. "I'm getting
out of this HOUSE" said the GHOST, so the
GHOST left the HOUSE and never cam back. But,
to this day, when the wind WHISTLES around the eaves,
you can hear the sounds of MOANS, BONG, CREAK,
WHIRL, CLATTER and SQUEAK coming from the
poor old deserted HOUSE
