Interactive Story: The Haunted House

Haunted House: stand up and shiver down
Witch: Heh heh heh
Hallowe'en: hold hands and say "trick or treat"
Little cat: meow, meow
Owl: Tuwhit towhoo
Bats: flap, flap, flap
Wind: oooooooooooooooooooo
Branches: creak, creak, creak
Ghost: Boooooooo or clank, clank, clank

Once upon a time there was a HAUNTED HOUSE. It was not haunted all the time, but only at HALLOWE'EN. The rest of the year it was just an ordinary house. In this house there lived two children and a LITTLE CAT.

The children did not know that they lived in a HAUNTED HOUSE because they always went to bed early on HALLOWE'EN and of course grownups cannot see WITCHES and GHOSTS anyways.

One HALLOWE'EN night the LITTLE CAT decided to go for a walk. It was very dark and there was a WIND and as he went along he heard the BRANCHES and the OWLS and even some BATS. He did not mind the BRANCHES and the OWLS or even the WIND but he did not like the BATS at all.

Just as he was about to turn around and go home he met a WITCH. he was a polite LITTLE CAT so he asked the WITCH where she was going. I am meeting my friends the GHOSTS out here among the BRANCHES and the OWLS and the BATS and the WIND and then we are going to my HAUNTED HOUSE for a HALLOWE'EN party! The WITCH asked the LITTLE CAT if he would like to come and since she seemed so friendly he said he would because he liked HALLOWE'EN parties!

The LITTLE CAT was very surprised when he came to his own house, and the WITCH and the ghosts and the BATS and the OWLS all went inside. The LITTLE CAT asked what they were doing and the WITCH told him to go and get the children and invite them down to the party. The children came down and had a lovely time with the LITTLE CAT and the WITCH and the GHOSTS and the BATS and the OWLS and outside the WIND blew and the BRANCHES tapped at the window.

In the morning the children told their parents about the lovely time they had but their mother laughed and said "You had a funny dream!" The children looked at the LITTLE CAT but he just laughed at then too.
